Itโs a good move for kids
But it feels like some kind of tourist trap in America than actually a zoo in Australia
Most of us Aussies are aware of the dangers of our creatures and do well to leave them to their own devices
We donโt call them monsters or ugly or disgusting??? I mean maybe cockroaches and cane toads, and we have a healthy fear of spiders and the like, but hatred and disgust?
Kids in Australia go wild over creepy crawlies
We are taught since we were born not to touch ANY creatures on the side of the road; the scene where a crowd chases the creatures and PB, and, firstly, try to touch a koala that is said to be sick, and secondly, try to kill him?? Like what the hell?! It feels like someone took an Australian zoo and put it in America and none of the Americans have any knowledge of creature safety or common sense??
You stay the hell away, do not crowd or jump on the poor things (seriously what the hell was that scene), and call an animal wildlife rescue organisation like rspca or wildcare Australia, or any number of local conservation and rescues for our different wildlife.
Kids should not be interacting with any wildlife they find on the side of the road or in parks, they should be told to stay away and get an adult
This movie is just a bunch of Americaโs stereotypes of Australia
Itโs a good movie for kids as long as they donโt take the whole โtouching wild animalsโ thing seriously
Its a good jumping point for teaching your kids about Australian wildlife
This movie needed more Australian hands in itโs making, more cultural sensitivity, and more wildlife safety knowledge
