Many years ago, I took a full weekend course with the author as the course instructor. I knew nothing about Paul Goldner, but was interested in learning about the topic, cold calling.
His presentation was compelling. He turned the hours into minutes. For every “rule” in his system, he had a logical “reason why.“
At the very end of his presentation, he told us that he built a $75 million corporation based on the system and asked us to note that at no time during his presentation did he utter an
”um” or other filler which was the result of his faithfully attending Toastmasters and becoming a master at speaking which helps members sound more confident and intelligent – even on the telephone.
Surprisingly, he didn’t sell copies of the book after the course. He simply mentioned that he authored it and it was available in bookstores. I bought it the following day, read it, and put it to work in my business with a few changes to make the system my own.
My company grew an additional $12 million over the following 10 years. I credit that growth to the combination of Paul Goldner and my shining personality.
