The Scottish accents and stereotyping are so bad it’s almost insulting. For English and American viewers, this film does not portray Scotland. It’s merely an Americanised stereotype of a Scottish village. Weirdly they didn’t use many Scottish actors, instead opting for English and American actors doing dreadful Scottish accents. Despite my rant, the film is still easy watching. Personally I find the bad accents and stereotyping amusing at times too, shows the ignorance of the people who made it. It’s a feel good, moderately amusing film to cheer you up on a cold Scottish afternoon.
