Awful lots of similar formulaic programmes that have better acting and scripts

I have read all TMC books and loved them so was anxiously awaiting the film - what a disappointment! Whilst Helen and Celia were well cast Joyce's character was so different in the books she was quiet and thoughtful and her “asides” were brilliant and the relationship with her daughter was far too twee.(don’t get me started on her kitchen & cakes!!) Ron was totally mid-cast ( was Ray Winston really not available?) Ben was passable but again his character was lost in this film. As for Bogdan actor was ok but far too handsome and made to look like a puppet as opposed to the intelligent and much loved character in the books! I feel sorry for Richard Osman as his literary masterpiece was turned into Hollywood Froo-Froo

It took a little while to get into but by the end of series 1 I am now a huge fan and hope a second series will happen

A fantastic series - superbly acted and exceptional writing the roof top “dance” scene was beautiful and heart rending - I loved this!
