An absolutely brilliant film, similar to other Cold War era reminders that playing at war is not good policy. There were a couple of head-scratchers, though. Why would a Navy captain skipper a destroyer (usually that falls to a commander), and why would the ship's primary sonar man be a seaman and not a senior petty officer? Otherwise, the routine aboard that old two-stacker was beautifully shown.
