One of the primary messages to ponder, which is delivered with symbolism and silences between spoken words, is that people are locked up in their private prison cells, for emotional "crimes" they may or may not have committed. After seeing this movie, it stayed with me for a long time, where I had to revisit different scenes in the story, and also rethink the strengths and weaknesses of the characters. Very often, it is what we do not do that shows how strong we can actually be. Poignant, as I would say in French.... it will grip you from the start to the last scene. I would give the young film maker a few Oscars: for a brilliant cast, a fascinating story, which he also wrote, as well as the camera work, and not to mention the perfect performances of all actors! Kudos for all of this!

Superb acting and a gripping story of real people who are lost, destitute, fight for dignity, self respect and making their dream come true. The story is mysterious at times, as the characters are not very sharing about their inner states. Suffering and mistrust have taught them lessons that are hard to revise. Karma is exacting its price from all involved, but all are really redeemed in the sense that they lead a life true to their hopes and expectations, true to the chips they'd been handed by their fate. One has to tie different things that occur over the years, together, as they are mostly kept secret by the characters, for good reasons! But all is clear in the end, and even more twisted than I had assumed it to be. Notice the opening scene, it is important! Bravo to the cast, I hope to see Oscars from this movie, and more than one! Go see this movie! You'll thank me later!
