I grew up LDS/Mormon. I guess I technically still am though I am not active in church. I do not attend anymore and have had my own difficulty with the religion. That being said, the way they are portraying the religion as a whole is so far fetched. I did not grow up in Utah so I can only imagine how much more pressure they feel. I did spent a semester there for school(not BYU)....just long enough to know that it was not the place for me. And though they live in a bubble for the most part, they are not these holier-than-thou than thou religious nut jobs. The way they talk in this show and pray at the drop of a dime is not the way I know them to be. They also portray them to be very controlling and egotistical. Of course every religion has extremists but this show is very much shedding the religion in a not realistic and poor light . Most of them are very kind, loving, helpful people in real life. They love family and God and scriptures. I don't think teaching those things are going to hurt anyone else in the long run.
