I'd honestly give it a 4.5/5 and its a must-watch!
The plot revolves around how the working class fight to play football with the upper class and to win the championship cup. However, I loved the way they focused not only on football but also the society at that point of time and all the actors played their roles amazingly!
The series is based on the 1800's era. The show brilliantly portrayed the class discrimination, the exploitation and struggles of the working class and also the low position and status of women in that society. It was really informative.
I also liked how they weren't partial or biased towards one class. Not showing the clichรฉ problems faced is what I liked most about the show. They involved forward thinking men in the upper class who sided with the working class and some of the female characters in the show are portrayed to be very strong minded women who were supported by their husbands or partners.
A job well-done. I enjoyed the show thoroughly!

The only criticism I have is, I wish the character of Fergus spent more time with Martha Almond's daughter. There was just one scene that showed him sitting with her on his lap but it didn't really satisfy me. Fergus had issues with his father and I would have loved to get an idea of the kind of father he would have made to the little girl.
I wish, while spending time with Martha, they would've shown Fergus bonding with the child as well because I believe the child has equal importance. How he treated the child would've said a lot about his character besides other qualities that have been shown.
Otherwise, everything was brilliant! I highly recommend watching this show!
