Matt Darling

What they did with this movie is a travesty. It completely destroys every aspect of the first movie. The characters (Affleck and Bernthal) are so different than the first movie that I felt like I was watching a spoof. Similar to the Good Will Hunting scene that Ben and Matt did in Jay and Silent Bob. The plot has no flow and I still didn’t really understand what the plot actually was until closer to the end of the movie. They’re not world class assassins in this, they’re goofy brothers who end up going on a humanitarian mission. The kids in the secret computer lab reminded me of Spy Kids and took all the legitimacy of Affleck’s character away. And why does he talk so different in this one? I can’t believe people actually are saying this was better than the first. Terrible.

Too many sub plots with all of the characters going on throughout the entire movie. None them were really dug into with all of them being wrapped up in a very deflated, flat way. Beetlejuice’s ex wife was pretty much a waste of a character as she had no real impact on anything. Lydia’s fiancé was pointless and an uninteresting story. Delia and dead Charles was also a waste of time. The main plot and sub plot would’ve been better with a focus on the daughter and ghost boyfriend and then Beetlejuice and ex wife. I’ve seen it once and don’t see a rewatch in the future.
