4.5 stars for SEASON 1!!
The first season of Grace & Frankie provides an opening into the experiences of older individuals in their 70s, dealing with issues of sex, gender, lesbian/gay relationships, friendship, and parenting. Beyond the key relationship between Grace and Frankie, one of the best aspects of the show is highlighting the enjoyable and loving moments between the two families, despite the drastic differences in upbringing and family culture between the ex husbands/children. Though the season only touches briefly on some of the identity characteristics of race/ethnicity, religion, drugs/alcohol and socioeconomic status, I am hopeful that future seasons address some of these more in depth. Overall, I would highly recommend this TV show due to its witty characters, lovable and hilarious moments, and life lessons for all.
