Considering this is not a documentary the writers and producers got an awful lot of the histoical backdop pretty close to being right. Notwithstanding the plot which eas of couse the entertaining component... Much of the launch sequences were actual footage rescanned in HD. Watching the Saturn V take off on a large wide screen with thundering sound effects of 163 million horsepower still gives me the chills. And yes there's some plot stitching you have to do if you didn't live through the space race. Such as the profound effect of the Apollo 1 tragedy that keeps on coming up in the movie. It certainly was one of the better movies that I've seen lately most of which were overwhelmed with computer graphics.
