One of the best M. Night films in my opinion. In fact this is probably my favorite of his works. A beautiful folklore story told in a way that makes its mythos believable. I love the message of unity and the feeling of community with the tenants and their interactions with Mr. Heep. I saw this in theaters when it first came out I was truly touched by this movie. At a time of great uncertainty this film was very much a needed thing in my life. I recently watched this with my mom as she had never seen it before, and she was in love with it as well. Of course no M. Night films would be complete with out a plot twist and I felt it was done beautifully. The ending left me with a feeling of renewal and hope for a peaceful and brighter future.
