I am giving this 1 star purely down to Maisie William's acting, everything else was a bust. From the rat tailed young Boycey to the annoying 'Teddy' the characters are ridiculous. The only one actually tolerable and who actually acts like someone would in this situation is Maisie Williams. There is no 'psychological thriller' about it, infact the plot is in title. This could of had the makings of a good movie but the lack of story, explanation, flow and anything that resembles a scare or making you think just takes away any kind of hope for this movie.

Just don't!!! This had the makings of a truly epic tale but alas, it comes across as if it was a very very long detailed book attempted to be crammed very badly in to a 1 1/2 hour film. Massive plot gaps, some very questionable acting and why they decided to dub English speaking russian actors with american voice actors I do not know. The actors can clearly speak English with how good they are moving their lips, so just let them have their own Russian accents!!! The special effects were actually very good and you can tell this is where the bulk of the budget went. Its just a huge shame that this promising tale has been made into this confusing, painful to follow and borderline unwatchable movie.
