June 17 monologue making jokes about Iran-Israel war was bad taste. People are dying on both sides. Israel has responded to Iran’s threats to totally annihilate it and seeking to develop a nuclear weapon in order to do so. The Iranian regime also chants “death to the US,” and has recently developed missiles that that can reach the East Coast. Making light of the US considering whether to take action to eliminate an Iranian nuclear weapon is far from humorous. Snark has no place here. Colbert has made himself look small, foolish and insensitive. I am disappointed in his inability to see how out of place this is.
