The overall story line was very interesting in the first two books so I stuck with it despite the bad writing and went for the third. Big mistake. The characters and their relationships with each other never developed nor were there seemingly any consequences for their bad behavior. Feyre, was first presented a a self sufficient ‘UN-girly’ like warrior yet a lot of pages are given over to describing her various outfits, hair, makeup, etc. Her relationship and communications with Rhysand are described with the exact same words every time. It got boring/annoying very quickly as did the use of words like ‘bond’, ‘mate’, and ‘prick’. Similarly, the characters are supposed to be hundreds of years old and yet they speak like middle school kids. The smutty scenes were gratuitous and did nothing to further the plot. The sloppiness and redundancy of the writing made the third book so boring I skimmed it, skipped pages, and became irritated with the ending.
