The show itself, the cinematography, the sound design, and the creature design its all really great, you don't think twice about any visuals to believe it, the concept of the show is absolutely fantastic, a long and slow-moving human perspective to a catastrophe beyond a common human understanding, the show doesn't defy physics and basic rules for the most part but after all it's a sci-fi that delivers the fiction part well.
The problem with the show is that it's very anti-climactic in its nature and overly climactic in scenes where it does not make any sense why!?
There are parts of the story that don't make any sense for 3 literal seasons, for instance that object thing the boy found, like come on guys, realistically a highly advanced alien ship that can crush homes why would it just drop a highly dangerous piece of an object down just out of nowhere, and why is there only one specific piece of the object that is somehow so special, yet no explanation in the show what so ever.
The writers definitely need more time and attention writing their work.
