I bought the book on a whim after meeting the author at a bookstore. TBH for the first 20-25 pages, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. Boy, was I wrong. The story reveals itself slowly; layer upon layer is pulled back carefully, exposing the characters’ humanity, frailties, grace, gentleness. By the time I reached the final few pages, I was in tears. Recommend.
