WAR 2 : My Take
Not bad at all...but not earth-shattering either. A solid entertainer that delivers its punches, though not always with the knockout force one might expect.
Hrithik Roshan? As magnetic as ever. His screen presence alone keeps you hooked. NTR Jr., however, seems to have been handed a character thatโs more tangled than textured...a little under-utilized, a little lost in translation.
Kiara Advani...her role feels more like a well-decorated frame than a fully painted portrait...beautiful, but missing the depth her talent can offer. Ashutosh Rana slips into his part with effortless gravitas, commanding the screen in every scene he appears.
The action? Sleek and energetic, but somewhere the โoomph factorโ seems to have missed the flight. The VFX, while serviceable, felt like they signed off early...I half-suspect the leftover files are being reserved for Brahmastra 2.
The songs? Plain Normal, and they carry a certain โalgorithmic polishโ...as if they were generated by ChatGPT in a rush to meet the deadline. Not even memorable.
Story-wise, it ends with the now-standard โopen ending,โ the cinematic equivalent of saying, โTo be continuedโฆ maybe.โ Hrithikโs character carries a whiff of the shadowy, precise elegance youโd expect from an assassin in a gripping spy novel...and thatโs a win.
As for Ayan Mukerji, heโs a storyteller who has given us gems like Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Venturing into the high-octane territory of War 2 isnโt a bad move at all...but given the scale, thereโs a lot more room to flex, and thankfully, other strong creative minds are on board.
All in all, War 2 is just a watchable ride.
