I listened. Twice. Thrice. I’m not a huge fan of country music in particular, but if I like a song, I don’t care what genre you label it. “To the left, to the left. Everything you own in a box to the left”. I loved that country song, covered by Beyonce. So, I was perfectly comfortable with Beyonce going all in with “Cowboy Carter”. This album is beyond labels. It is an artistic masterpiece that creatively deals with love, pain, race, sexuality and social justice. Each song is its own story/play that weaves and flows all throughout. Never boring always challenging your acceptance. I found myself saying ”Ok. I get it.” Beautifully blending the classics with the new and next up. Unexpected collaborations that introduced me to singers and musicians I am now grateful to know. As I mentioned, I’m not a country music fan in particular. I don’t listen to it in my car so, I’m not likely to listen to this on the regular. However, like Picasso, I can, do and always will, respect the ART. So, I appreciate “Cowboy Carter” for the experience and the opportunity to enjoy great music .💜

I listened to every song. Twice. Thrice. I liked one song, “The Prophecy “. Otherwise, I honestly found the lyrics tedious, repetitive; the music melodic and melancholy. I was disappointed that just about every song seemed to sound the same. The subject matter was mostly the same -exhaustingly abusive relationships. Even her references to her new relationship, Kelce, didn’t sound particularly joyful. Maybe I’m not her audience and she did exactly as she intended. If so, I apologize for my outburst. I’ll move along.👋🏾💜

Mahomes was Mahomes. Amazing QB. However, way too much Brittany Mahomes. The show is called “Quarterback” not “Real Housewives”. Her demeanor, voice, general personality all hit wrong. Also, for all her “amazing support”, she wasn’t very supportive when he lost games. She made fun of him for “losing lately”. Her short lived soccer “career” was totally irrelevant and added nothing to the series. The other wives were much better at giving support without trying to steal the spotlight. Kirk Cousins was nice but boring. Marcus Mariota’s story was frustrating but hopeful…finally.
