After reading the book series and watching the Tv show Anne with an e, I got to the conclusion that i do like both, but the book has nothing to do with the actual series. While yes they are about Anne been adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthberth, the series goes to cover the 2024 problems of society including racism towards black race, the feminism, the LGTBQ+ community and violence towards children plus more...
Whereas the book has a more "positive" attitude towards Anne's childhood experiences with other children in Avonlea, she does goes to collage with Gilbert, and also to Uni after losing Matthew and taking care of Marilla as she slowly loses her eyesight.
There is no Friend living with Gilbert and no scandal about the picnic part of the story...
I guess the series made it into more melancholic drama rather than a more happier part as the book shows.
