Show was lacking Episode 1 season 8. The story line was good, but the new charactor was cold. When the dog yelped Mark showed no concern where as the original character would have shown concern. When the characters reunite after the take down Mark sat on a rock beside Rex where as Charlie would have hugged Rex with relief that Rex was alright. I am disappointed in the first show. I will give it a couple of more episodes to make a final decision on the replacement of John Reardon. As an Author myself in a series of books I can honestly say that changing a character loses value. A Persons personality is as different as finger prints no two are the same. Many shows have fallen for changing characters over the decades. Watched three episodes and found the acting is 33% colder in personality acting. Found it to be boring in the third episode. Nobody is the same as it was with Reardon.
