Ummmmmm..... yeah. So, not sure what I expected from this movie. The plot seemed interesting enough. However, the messaging building up to the end is that of life being pointless and God isn't concerned with us per se as much as he is simply concerned with the overall creation of the universe; therefore we are by default inconsequential in the grand scheme of his creation. I realize this is the perspective by a significant amount of individuals on this planet current day so I won't comment further. However, the conclusion of the movie drives this premise right down your throat with the end unraveling in the suicide of the female character and the male character agonizing in pain over the loss of what amounts to the only other person on the planet....and driving his SUV aimlessly as the credits scroll up the screen,,, until finally the images fade into black..and The END. F*****ing nice. This probably went over pretty big in Iceland, as what will undoubtedly go down as a classic for those in the Scandinavian Countries where suicide rates are abnormally high. Further I wonder how their KickStarter backers felt about the end product of their investment money. Actually, come to think of it putting the lack of funds into the equation then the movie ending makes perfect sense. All money is used up, Hard Stop, that a wrap. To the actors I say this, you guys rocked. Your acting was superb, as the movie unfolded I was feeling the magnitude of depression, loss of purpose, and 15 mins before the end I felt the suicide building up in Jenai, it was gripping at me hard as this IMHO is a highly likely outcome for many given those circumstances. To the writers of this story.... I had to ask myself what value is to be had in portraying hopelessness, an indifferent and apathetic Deity. A world where a young beautiful couple cannot deal with the circumstances of their new reality and come undone mentally. I don't need a movie for that. I can just turn on the news, or go visit anytown, Africa to immerse myself in those feelings. Moreover, they wouldn't be make believe sci-fi. It's not that I need a happy ending. No... it's that I was expecting a message other than S**T happens, and then you die. Again, not arguing against that ideology. However, that statement and thought process is akin to reading a sentence that half way thru the predicate just abruptly ends and you don't have a complete sentence. I don't need to like what the sentence says,,, but at least have a complete sentence. You had an interesting subject, the verbs played out nicely between the two actors, and more than half way thru the predicate you just stopped. Maika if you are reading this, I liked how in the movie you kept saying this doesn't make any sense. Just now I fully understand what you were referring to. It wasn't the make believe reality you were commenting on; It was the entire movie itself.
