I can't do half stars but I'd say 2.5/5. I loved the original show and this one has promise BUT they spend far too much time in the future with relationship drama, a la early 2000s CW shows, and not nearly enough time in the past, the point of the show. They've also had multiple opportunities to rescue Sam from the worst TV ending in the 90s BUT have spent all their time with relationships with characters who have zero chemistry. I want to see more of what made us love the original or just pull the plug and Dr Song also never returned home.

I'm a huge AC fan, even have all the merch on my wall and a tattoo of the symbol of the Creed, but this one... the flying paper chases are annoying, the stone stacking requiring pixel perfect placement in some cases is a little janky, and the sheer amount of padding, I mean collectibles, is far too much. I get wanting to extend the game play time but there's a point where you roll eyes at what the blue and white dots on the map turn out to be. In some cases some cases it seems to be a downgrade from Origins and Odyssey, especially with elemental weapons being removed. I also find myself jumping in unexpected directions like in AC2 and falling in completely the wrong direction I pressed.
