Oh where I do I start, I found this movie nothing but gigantic Barbie commercial. First 10 minutes of the movie, seemed like product placement of different Mattel Barbie toys that had ever come out.
The movie shows a parallel universe to Barbie Land - a land of patriarchy. This patriarchal society, captialized on women's imagination of being free, and being whoever she wanted to be - hence Barbies in multiple roles. This imaginary world is capitalized by men but still remains in imagination. The movie shows the role of Ken, in this imaginary world is the same as in real world women has.
Despite the efforts of juxtaposition of these two different worlds. In my opinion movie lacks the storyline.
Movie would appeal more to 9 - 30 age group. It doesn't speak to the woman who has gone through a lot in the society just struggling to meet her needs.
I wouldn't recommend the movie. One time, time pass only.
