Never left a review on a show before but I feel like I had to for this. Brother and I watched this show because of the nostalgia we had for the Animated Series when we were younger. I was mildly excited for this project because of the familiar names who created it. If I had to sum this show up plainly, I wouldn’t even call it bad, just plainly disappointing. The writing is mediocre, the characters lacking substance or any dynamic changes that would have kept me interested. It’s not that I don’t appreciate new takes on classic characters, it’s just a shame that none seemed properly fleshed out at all. Barbara is boring and can do no wrong, Renee is annoying, everyone else is rather shallow. The only character I like and believe had a great voice was Batman and throughout this first season he honestly feels like a background character a lot of the time. It’s just a shame and since I saw critics give this show a criminally good score I wanted to say something with five spare minutes I found myself with.
