This shit is so ass I can’t even describe the pain I’m feeling rn. The director completed butchered the characters and story to fit his misogynistic views. My favourite novel was mutilated right in front of my eyes. I feel sorry to the authors singnsong who saw their life’s hardwork get chopped up into mush and repackaged half-assedly. There are just so many things wrong with this sad excuse of an adaptation that didn’t honour the original piece at all. Look, I get that adaptations can’t be a 1:1 replica of the original but this isn’t even an adaptation anymore. At this point I’m just considering it plagiarism and a movie heavily inspired by the original work. I refuse to accept this as my orvla. This is just going to be a shit ass ripoff in my mind. I could list out all the things wrong with this but I’m not gonna waste anymore time and effort onto hating this movie. All the other one star reviews basically already say what I want to say. I just hope that if this is your first experience with orv, please do go read the novel. It’s much better than this shit show. Thank you for your time. (Also message for the director: I hope all your toenails fall off and you take a shit with a dildo up your ass and you pee out a golfball sized kidney stone at the same time.)
