I started to play WoW a few weeks after the initial release and was in the begitning very sceptic on the game play, story line etc, as I was comparing it to Ultima Online, but I was blown away, how brilliant it was and the stories was so good implanted, Now 20 years later I'm still blowen away, by the lore and how they are able to still make content that make they game, feeling better then ever. Every time I login to WoW, I have the feeling that I'm with an old friend and haven't tried that with other games, and I have been gaming since the C64. In my option World of Warcraft might be the best gaming experiment ever produced...
