This is a really fascinating series. It forced me to reexamine history from a much deeper perspective and gave me new perspective on how prejudice and geopolitical conflict can harm and undermine global peace and coexistence. In the time, place, and historical context of this series, the good guys and the bad guys' intentions are are completely misunderstood during war time. It is undoubtedly a classic and a must-see.

What a beautifully portrayal of loyalty, strength, love and betrayal in times of tyranny, power struggles, invasions, slavery and abuse of the powerless. The lead actors were absolutely amazing. I have admiration for the real empress, and am grateful Korea is telling their historical stories so much. Of course it is dramatised a lot but I have yet to see any country who is so proud in telling their stories in such an ongoing manner. I have watched and rewatched this many times over and it Is Still beautiful. Thanks for this beautiful and extraordinary production. It's a definite gem. Ha Ji Won and Joo Jin Mo's great acting and chemistry was just great and Ji Chang Wook's added to that greatness . A gem indeed!
