The film was such a disappointment. The lead actor was totally unsuitable for the role. The script was pretty terrible and even Denzel Washington wasn't able to make it work. The story arc could have been good, but again didn't hold together and at times didn't make sense. I really wanted to like it but it was just poor.

I wanted to like this, but it really isn't good. The main characters are genuinely annoying. Every line of dialogue lands like it was written by someone desperate to be considered witty. But the show doesn't know whether it's a drama or a sitcom. Without wanting to be harsh, it fails at both.

This is a massively underrated series. The writing is fantastic, the characters are compelling, and the acting is first class. I can't say enough good things about this show. It's so good to see a WW2 series where the characters aren't just black and white, good/bad. Each character has strengths and weaknesses, regardless of nationality, which drives the plot at a brilliant pace. Would highly recommend a watch.
