9/10, This was a fantastic movie that was fairly faithful to the original story that was released back in 1990. It was visually outstanding, action packed, had sweet moments. You get to see Alita go from doe eyed innocent girl to the beginning stages of her transition into a badass. As I am a huge fan of the source material, I dont know for sure how much stuff was in the movie that people wouldnt understand if they werent already familiar with Alita, although I did go with someone who was discovering Alita through the movie and they didnt seem confused about anything. The only things that bugged me were the ones made to main characters personalities, backstory, or motivation (sounds big but not really) because it changed the feel of the characters for me, however I understand reasons it may have been done and I will still recomend the movie without hesitation. The one big thing I was disappointed with was the change to the big bad and how they function within the world, but thats cause I really like the archetype they are in the source material. All in all, great movie! Highly recommend.

The beautiful visuals could not make up for whatever happened with the voice acting. I wanted to love this movie but I just couldn't. On the positive side the Hyenas were mostly awesome and they added some scenes that made for great additions to the story. Still doesnt make up weightless dialogue throughout the movie and other issues. 2/5
