It was not as advertised to say the least. It was awful. It wasn’t historical in the slightest. They must have not even had a historian on set for it to be as far off as it was. For god sakes the British had scoped muskets. On top of that they skipped HUGE sections of the history in favor of showing a bizarre relationship with his wife. Which also has zero foundation in history. The few battles that were shown didn’t even look very good on top of not showing any actual history. The costumes didn’t match the time period and looked cheap. All around it was just a bizarre movie that had nothing to do with the actual history. Which in turn doesn’t fit how this movie was advertised. Who was this movie for?

I absolutely loved it. It was slow to begin with but that isn't a criticism because it sets you up for the rest of the movie. There were a few surprises and a lot of amazing scenes. It was an extremely disturbing film that keeps you captivated. This is NOT and antihero move. There are no good guys. This is truly a movie about a villain and it's fascinating.
