There was such good material here to make something wonderful, however Sergio never full develops the plot line or its characters. The film focuses too much on a not very believable or intriguing love story. This had the potential to be something along the lines of The Constant Gardner but it fails miserably. There are some beautiful shots of Rio, New York, a beautiful tale with a Timorese woman. That scene, maybe 3-4 minutes was the best thing in the film.
