I see this every time; whether Lord of the Rings, Comics, Harry Potter... folks get all tied up in knots about consistency with the original. Make room for poetic license and alternate story telling. The movie is fun, not perfect, but a good origin story with enough to entertain. Nothing is perfect. The family had a great night out and by the way my son is an avid comic fan in his 20s. Suspend disbelief and just enjoy. It's worth viewing.
