I wouldn't necessarily say that I loved it, but it was a wonderful film. I get that a lot of viewers might get easily confused because they have short attention spans, or they may think its boring because of periods in the movie that lack dialogue. I get that people thought this movie was about mental illness, which it eerily kind of is... or that people thought this was about alien abductions, which it also kind of is about too. You never really know for sure, even though there is an "Aha!" moment at the end. It presents the possibility of either scenario, as well as other conspiracy theories that the main character concocts. Its also about feelings of loneliness and despair, feeling like the awkward outsider, then the sweet feeling of relief when you can connect with someone he understands and can relate. Its also about fear and confusion, and the fragility of the mind. Alison Brie is amazing at expressing all these emotions flawlessly. Her range as an actress is marvelous. I remember seeing her in "Community" several years ago, and I instantly fell in love. Most recently, she co-starred in "GLOW" - which very much like Community, she was able to show off her comedic and dramatic chops effortlessly. I am thoroughly impressed with "Horse Girl" (stupid title though), although it may not be for everyone.
