I didnt go into this movie with high expectations or anything, i just wanted to see some bad ass viking politics and fighting at the very least but this was the worst viking depiction I have ever seen! There were so many unnecessary scenes and plot points that just made this movie longer for no reason, the story was so messy yet so simple it felt like the main character had no real reason or motivation for any of his actions beyond revenge and even then he had completely fogotten about it until he has to be literally led into the woods to be reminded which made it feel less authentic what he was doing, there is random magic which is fine if the world appeared to be magic but no just some certain things like a stupid sword that could only open at a certain time then somehow curses, the love interest had no build up and didnt make sense, he just starts telling this random woman of all his plans even though he's supposed to keep them secret. All of these things could have been forgiven if the kill scenes and fight scenes were at least done better but they were all underwhelming and even when you got to see a good death it was shrouded in darkness because the entire movie is either black and white or pitch dark nighttime with fog absolutely EVERYWHERE! Don't get me started on Nicole Kidman and I'm Aussie, I don't know what she was trying to be but she switched between about 4 different accents and was bipolar. The whole movie just felt off and it actually was hurting my eyes trying to see through all the smoke and darkness everywhere, I was thoroughly disappointed in the lack of depth in characters and the plot, I could never watch this again.

I love the first two movies so much but this one just wins between the two, it went for more gore and more kills which kept it exciting the entire time, it gave us answers the first movie didnt get time to explain and showed us in detail the lives of the mutants and their family bonds which actually made me empathise with them which is insanely hard to do considering what they do. This movie did have some over acting moments but that helped ground us back to reality with a light laugh which is important in any good horror movie, it makes me laugh, it makes me anxious for the characters and still maintains a great story line and the continuation of the story from the first movie is flawless.

Loved the original and I was very very worried going into this but its actually amazing and now I like it even more than the original , I love how much back story they added which really brought the whole thing together, the visual work and CGI is stunning and Anne Hathaway did one of her best acting performances and really stepped out of her regular roles which was super refreshing. This whole movie was fantastic and kept all the important details with added ones.

Spectacular visualexperience and compelling story Strongly suggest viewing this movie on psychedelics to experience the movie to its fullest. The visual effects used in this movie truly brings it to life what the characters are seeing and feeling. Nothing on the screen is out of place and everything has meaning and connects to the overall story from the paintings to the walls and trees, nothing in this movie is an accident and everything was well thought out. Impressed with the gore effects in this movie, they made it quite realistic and were not afraid to show it up close and with good lighting as most most movies hide the effects in darkness to disguise the imperfections. The story can seem kind of slow but the amount of visual stimuli and related symbolism to take in really covers for it, everything you view is relevent to the story and the pauses in certain parts of the movie allows you to put yourself in the shoes of the characters and help you understand how they are feeling, from fear to uncertainty you can truly feel all their emotions in the way they have pieced this film together not to mention the fantastic acting from everyone involved. Though the end can be considered wrong and some seem to dwell on that no one said you had to like the main character or the outcome of the story, you don't have have to agree with ending to respect the experience that was created throughout. I don't like many movies I can actually be quite picky but this movie went above and beyond in terms of a psychedelic experience, it was really accurate with portraying the emotions you get from outward stimuli while on a trip and the visuals you experience. The emotions and feelings I felt watching this movie will continue to stick with me and for all of that this is a perfect psychedelic movie for me.
