An interesting drama. Very well acted and directed. Be aware that there is very little connection to Dickens’ work of the same title. (Additions and changes are so many and so great.) Enjoy it for itself, not a Christmas Carol.
But as itself, too many elements are unconvincing. The main character is portrayed as a good man in some respects, yet Marley is portrayed as a man led astray by the relentlessly evil Scrooge. Bob Cratchit is insolent to his employer at a time of high unemployment, in a merciless employers-can-do-no-wrong era. And so on.
