He said he saw some of them look right at him!! He couldn't look away and then he said he saw their souls leaving their bodies. Jim said that one of them entered his body!! He felt him inside his mind as a little boy. He said that man would come out sometimes, and when he got older, that man became his alter ego! Remember, the country was at war in Vietnam. The teens and 20 somethings were doing drugs. Everyone was fascinated by drugs. I might have only been a kid, but growing up in a big family in the city, I watched it all happen. The Doors were playing on every radio on every street corner as we all watched the teen boys being marched off to war. The average U.S. soldier was a 19-year-old man from a poor or working-class family and they were drafted. The draft didn't end until 1973.
