When we lost westerns in favor of cops shows, we lost part of our culture. Societal norms reversed, the bad guys became heroes and the good guys became corrupt. Rio Bravo is more than a Western. It is a look back to the culture of good triumphing over bad, honesty, respect, and dignity encapsulated in a genre embraced by the greatest generation that endured the Great Depression and a world war. Their values are captured here for us to remember and pass along to future generations.
