I loved this film. One of the most original films I’ve seen in a while and so so much better at depicting the terrors of ambition and power than many others. Told from a female perspective which was refreshing in itself, these characters had little option but to act in that way or fall back down the ladder again into destitution. I thought it really highlighted how ambition equalled survival. The depiction of how power corrupts reminded me of Shakespeare’s Richard II. And the music ..... it was extraordinary! I didn’t find it intrusive- I loved it. All the central actors were superb and deserve awards and the visual were sumptuous. A great film!
