This movie wasn’t totally terrible. I really liked Vanessa Hudgens in it and I thought she did a pretty good job playing both characters, before and during the switch. However, I absolutely despised the ending. It was so cliché in that both girls switched lives and then fell in love with the opposite guy (Margaret and Kevin, Stacy and Edward). It was just so boring having the city girl end up with the prince, then the princess (or duchess in this case) end up with the simple city guy. And personally, I would’ve liked it if when they got out of the switch, they saw their original guys in a new way. For example if Stacy saw that her and Kevin’s friend relationship could be more, and Margaret saw that Edward was actually a wonderful man to be with. I thought it would’ve set it aside from other movies that have a similar plot where two girls switch lives. Also, I didn’t like how when Stacy came back from the switch, Kevin’s daughter really seemed to like Margaret more than Stacy. It just felt like Stacy had been in their (Kevin and his daughter) lives for so long, obviously very important in both of their lives, but was suddenly not as amazing and wonderful as Margaret, who they had only known for two days. Ok, sorry this is my last point I promise. I hated how Kevin seemed to have had this crush on Stacy, for so long (since college I think), and then in a span of only two days he falls for Margaret. I just feel like they made Margaret the better, more spontaneous and fun friend/love interest, which pushed Stacy to the side and subtly removed the strong friendship that Kevin and Stacy had. Sorry this was so long, overall this movie was ok, a few cute and fun moments. I just thought the story was slapped together. They could’ve changed it up and done something out of the box with it.
