The German original version is MUCH better. I don't know why Netflix edited it and created a very weak version of the original. The editing is poor and so much is left out (characters, plot development, story line) that it makes for poor viewing. "The Defeated" is NOT the same story as the version shown in Germany in English/German. So much footage from the German original is edited out that many events in "The Defeated" seem unmotivated and confusing.
