The boxing scenes are phenomenal. The boxers have done a fabulous job, one and all. Screenplay and camera work are fantastic. It could have easily matched the international standards, if the madness of Tamil emotions and overacting were kept aside. For instance, a scene where Arya's wife offered a lullaby in an attempt to make her kid sleep - was that really a lullaby? In reality, any kid would get horrified to hear such a deathly sound. What madness is that? Why such sounds and why such unwanted screaming, yelling and overacting? That's not what a tamil movie is all about. Do you ever see such madness in Mani ratnam's movie? You will not. That's the only best of Mani Ratnam, the rest is zero. Overall, based on Tamil Standards, this movie is certainly to be 5 stars.
