Always loved GCJr... Had zero idea that he was this type of musician and this album puts him right up there with some of my all-time favorites, musician or album. There are so many layers to this album, it's as if every song could anchor a whole other album on its own, let alone all be on this one album. Atmospheric, groovy, cinematic, rich, layered, but unbelievably well polished. It's no wonder it took 3+ years between writing and releasing the album. Every note seems so well placed and each song has 2, 3, sometimes 4 hooks that will have you humming. I haven't been this blown away by a new album for possibly a couple decades. It's like putting all the best songs from Alabama Shakes, Black Pumas, Manchester Orchestra, and Michael Kiwanuka all on one album, but GCJr said hold my beer and made a better album all by himself, with two apex appearances from Stevie W. and George C. Unbelievable. We are so very lucky to have this album to narrate life. Album of the Year stuff. Thank you so much, Gary!

Gorgeous. The terrain of Horizon Forbidden West takes you through every climate type planet earth has. And every area is exquisitey beautiful. Nothing is repeated or reused to fill the world, except maybe the loot boxes and various herbs and machine parts. The only thing that seems a little overdone, which is the reason I did not give 5 stars, is the outfits of the NPCs. The headresses, unnecessary embellishments, and showy hairdos are just a bit unbelievable for a bunch of different tribes living off the land and the machines. Less is more here, and many times it's hard to take the story seriously when you're looking at such a silly wardrobe. It must have taken some serious effort to create the detail of the wardrobes, that much is obvious, but still, a little goofy for my taste. Another thing that could use a more realistic touch is the motion-acting. Feels a little over-acted. Not much can compare to the nuanced acting of The Last of Us series, for example, but Far Cry 6 was much more realistic in this regard as well. Might be enough for the kiddos, but for us middle-aged gamers, nuance goes a long way. Other than the nitpicking I've mentioned, the beauty and game play of the Horizon series is still very much tops of the heap and this is a must see and play game. Great job, Sony.

Horizon Forbidden West

They killed it. Just unloaded a beast of a game! Borderlands 3 is everything you'd expect, only wayyyyy better and much bigger. Unlike previous installments, the locations, the loot, and the bad guys never feel overused or repetitive. It always feels fresh and the depth is just amazing. Having played all of the games in this franchise, this one feels like the way this game was always meant to be. Borderlands 3 is the the payoff we have all be waiting for.
