I like “Halloween II”, but I’m not a fan of how the extremely slow pace. Every time I watch this film, I get bored very easily after the Dr. Loomis scene with the neighbor; “You Don’t Know What Death Is!” and the opening credit sequence. I still enjoy this film because of nostalgia, but if I’m in the mood for some fun of this movie ; I’ll watch certain clips of “Halloween II” like the kill scenes and when Laurie is being chased my Michael Myers in the third act, I’ll just watch it on YouTube. This film has a slow pace and everything felt repetitive. It’s like Carpenter copy and paste a lot from his classic “Halloween” to make this work. I used to be a fan of the brother\sister arc that was introduced in this, when I was kid because in my mind that meant that they can make countless sequels with that element. But looking at that element as an adult, I can see why it was mistake. Ever since the brother\sister arc has been introduce in this film each sequel that followed became more convoluted and watered down because of this. This film succeeds at maintaining the atmosphere and cinematography of the first movie. I like watching this film because of nostalgia, but now that I’m older I see a lot issues with this film. This film is not that bad, but it’s certainly not that great either.

This movie is extremely forgettable. This movie was clearly made for quick cash grab. This movie is not sequel, it is clearly a reboot. None of the original characters of the 2004 classic (Yes! I’m calling the original one a classic because I grew up watching it and love it so much) “Mean Girls” is mentioned or eluded to. This film is pretty generic and disappointing. The film makers clearly never watched the first film. In the film makers mind, they thought that they can reuse the generic high school mean girl formula that has been done to death in pop culture to bank off the name “Mean Girls”. The original “Mean Girls” was more than just cliques and queenbees, it was about girls dealing with real issues such as body image, sexuality, and coming of age. This film has none of those themes. The film makers had the obvious idea of reuniting the original cast for a reunion; I can assume that the original cast had a lot integrity and respect for the pop culture impact the first one made and didn’t want to do a reunion unless they’re really passionate about it.

I’ll give “Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers” credit for being better than the last installment and having a better mask, but it still not a good movie. It tries so apply an explanation to Michael Myers evil doings, which is a mistake. Michael Myers is just a boogeyman, not some pawn of a cult! I hate the fact they killed off Jamie, which I think she was disposed of disrespectfully! She is one of the intricate characters of the franchise. This sequel is a big F-U to the mystique and intrigue of Michael Myers!

This film is boring and atrocious! The story is rushed and terrible. The mask is garbage. The characters are terrible even Dr. Loomis. I hate the fact that they introduce this psychic connection between Michael Myers and Jamie Lloyd. I hate the fact that this film introduces the man of black for the cult storyline to be introduced in next sequel. This is the start of the decline for the Halloween franchise.

I love “Halloween 4” because it has great mood and atmosphere. When I first seen this film with my sister as kids, I’ve loved the opening title sequence with all the Halloween decorations and the sound of the wind. It gave me goosebumps because it let me know that this film was going to be scary. The one thing I hate about this movie is the mask! The mask is garbage and looks cheap; like a mask a kid would buy in Walmart. I guarantee you that the credits to criticize the movie as being a cheap imitations of “John Carpenter’s Halloween” said that because of the mask. I love Donald Pleasance in this movie more than even the first “Halloween” because he’s not playing any games with Michael Myers! He’s going make sure Michael Myers is destroyed. I like the ending when Jamie becomes the killer. I feel that they should have stopped there because next film is a sorry ass sequel that negates that ending and starts the downhill slope for the franchise.

I love the hell out of John Carpenter’s Halloween! The film is timeless classic! I love the atmosphere; that blueish and blackish hue in the third act sets up the mood and atmosphere. I feel that’s one thing that “Halloween 2018” is missing! It’s missing that classic cinematography of the strong blueish and blackish hue over the film to enhance the suspense. I love the fact that Michael Myers is completely motiveless and just the embodiment of evil; he’s a complete mystery, which makes him a lot more scarier than the sequels. I love Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis; especially the monologue about Michael Myers being slightly supernatural; “the blank pale emotionless face; the black eyes; the devils eyes”. Every time I here that speech, I get goosebumps and keep speculating what is Michael Myers. Is he human or supernatural? The boogeymen should always be kept in mystery. The less is more! I love Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode in her feature film debut. The score is iconic and suspenseful. It really set the blueprint for countless imitators to borrow a lot the tropes like have a “final girl”, having an unstoppable killer, and killing off promiscuous teens! This is one of the horror films, I would allow my children to watch! My grandchildren will watch as well. I want to keep this film legacy alive because it’s really phenomenal film. I always tell each young adult in my generation to watch John Carpenter’s “Halloween”.

I have so much nostalgia for “I Know What You Did Last Summer” because of the aesthetic of hot young actors being stocked by a killer with a signature weapon. I love the atmosphere of the grey and blueish tent over the film; it sets up the mood. Every time I watch it, it feels like a fresh viewing experience because of how attractive teens were in the 90s and they were no cellphones or other technologies being used as plot devices unlike the current horror films released today. I feel that it revitalized the horror genre with “Scream” of the 90s. I’m preying that they don’t remake this film because I feel that it still holds up today and my fear is that they might use the current technology today as plot devices in the film; I feel those are lazy cop outs to attract a teenage demographic. If they do decide to make a remake of this film, I would hope that they use the same approach “Scream 4” used.

Freddy vs. Jason succeeds at putting two of horror icons of the last century for the ultimate death matches in cinematic history! I have so much nostalgia for this movie because I seen it when I was 6 years old. I love the characters like Monica Keena, Kelly Rowland, and Katharine Isabelle; they were the most attractive part of the movie. This is one of the few films in the 2000s, I don’t mind revisiting numerous times throughout the year. My favorite part of the movie is the cinematography and the music of the party in the cornfield; so hypnotic and beautiful, when Will reconciles with Lori. Freddy vs. Jason will never get old. The kills were awesome especially the stoner kid’s death, when Jason slices him in half; carnage candy people! I would’ve really wanted to see a sequel to this film with Robert Englund comes back as Freddy Krueger and Monica Keena returning as Lori Campbell. I know some people have issues with this movie, but movies are meant to entertain people; this movie sure entertain me.
