Cas Tiel

I loved this movie. There were many things from the first movie that they brought back, and those allusions were wonderful. Then they were able to add many more elements to this movie that really built on the story of the first movie really showing that this family had grown and developed for 30 years. I couldn't believe how much of the first cast returned to this movie which really gave a sense of continuity. I thoroughly enjoyed the theme of trying your best to live up to expectations placed on you while absolutely needing to forge your own path. Akeem's relationships with his daughters was really sweet, and he masterfully showed how a person, even a dad, can grow and learn because of the love you have for someone else. In all this was a great movie.

Ian Somerhalder makes this show. There are a few plot holes in the story, but there are plot holes in every story. This is an interesting and new take on the vampire/horror genre. Not to give too much away, but it was a brilliant move to incorporate the mutation of junk DNA into the show seeing as how 90% of the human genome is constituted of this dormant DNA, and we still don't know much about what it is or could do. Great show, interesting premise, and it's nice seeing Ian Somerhalder back in a show. I hope they make more seasons.
