Absolute Garbage of a movie . Honestly forget the lazy writing, that substitutes cheap , contrived drama , in place of the really stunning and soul-wrenching factual events of the Chernobyl catastrophe . And forget the creepily nationalistic overtones , seeking to reinvent the terrible lessons learned , and instead, pervert the story into some kind of message of soviet heroism. Seriously forget all that ... because this movie is such a staggering cringefest of embarrassing writing, spastic acting , and a nonsensical plot, that all the shitty messaging in the world won't even register when you turn this off 20 minutes in from sheer boredom and irritation. "You're dreaming in your own dream town" -actual line from the movie ... honest to god I've had to sit though several high school plays and none of them were as badly written or acted as this cinematic abortion.
