Never seen the film to compare but the story in this game was brillaint! Gameplay is reminiscent of heavy rain and detroit become human. Some sections feel a little slow paced but when everything starts coming together piece by peice it is so gripping and intriguing. I played this on ps4 and the light bar switches colour on your controller each time you switch character. I was about 3 or so hours in and suddenly the light bar became a colour I hadn't seen before - truly disturbing, shocking and all round amazing turn in the story- I didn't see it coming at all! Don't want to spoil anything here so just know I play a lot of games and this was a brillaint one! If you love mystery games, thrillers and story driven game experiences this is a must play!

This game is absolutely incredible. I loved playing every single second of the last of us 2. Dont be put off by all the negative reviews of this game like I almost was. I dont want to include any spoilers but you play as Ellie and a new antagonist turned hero Abby. People hate that Abby doesnt have the high standard of beauty this society holds against women and most people are claiming she is a transgender character which she isnt, and even if she was, why would that matter? Abby is a strong muscular woman, and I'm assuming she is this way because she lives in the apocalypse and wants to be able to hold her own if her life is on the line. When I first played as Abby I wasnt sure what was going on, but the more i played as her, despite what she does early on in the game, the more i loved her. I loved playing as Ellie too, of course in this derelict world, filled with so much exploration and possibilities, it was just amazing. I loved the structure of the story, the jumps back in time, pretty much every single second of this game was absolutely amazing. The set pieces look spectacular, the AI is smarter than before with the infected in particular a deadly threat. Trust me, play this game for yourself and appreciate what the developers did here. Naughty dog have set a new standard for game accessibility with this game which is just incredible. And for all those who hate this game just because of Abby, remember, the only difference between her and ellie is that we met ellie first. If the coin was flipped and we played as abby in the first game, we would be hating on ellie for everything she does. Appreciate and enjoy the story of the last of us for what it is, not what you wanted it to be. It's a masterpiece in gaming and I cant wait for my second playthrough.
