Alan Wake 2 could have been a really good game but what falls short is the story telling. I don't have a problem with playing as two characters but I don't want to play a game where I just wonder what the hell is going on. It just boggled my mind when we started to play as Alan. The game starts off interesting and I liked the Mind place when playing as Saga. But the game feels like Saga is the main character and Alan isn't the protagonist anymore. The game should have started as Alan and explained what happened to him exactly and THEN introduce Saga and other new characters.
The graphics were outstanding, 10/10 and the gameplay was great. Never had any problems with that and I liked Saga's detective work. I just don't understand why as soon as we play as Alan the story just started making no sense. What was the real life talk show scene all about? Am I playing a video game or watching a movie? That should have be separate from the game. This game at times just felt like fan fiction and I really wasn't impressed with how they dealt with Alice in this game.
It wasn't a bad game but sadly it wasn't for me. Oh and what was Remedy thinking with the no physical copy? So that's just £50 down the drain as you can't get a refund after you download a game. Based on the ending of the second game, I'm glad there might be a 3rd game.
I really hope that feels more like the first game as that is one of my favorites. Man, I realy miss the old days of gaming...
