This was a really good book, I enjoyed the story very much it’s about a girl Biddy (Beatrice) who grew up in Hy-Brasil, an isolated island with Rowan, a mage who can change into a Raven and his familiar, Hutchincroft a rabbit who can change into a human. All her life she’s known about magic. As Biddy gets older she begins to question why she can’t leave the island, why she can’t go to the mainland, where she came from, why Rowan leaves so often and comes back so late and tired . All Biddy knows of the world is through reading , the only place she’s ever been is the island where she’s lived for sixteen years with Rowan and Hutchincroft, until Rowan fails to return one day and Biddy and Hutchincroft search for him in his dreams to learn he’s been trapped and help him escape. But that’s only the beginning of their problems. The council has found him again, and this time they’ll stop at nothing, to uncover Rowan’s secrets. It’s a fast pace tale of a girl with her adoptive father figure Rowan , whose keeping secrets from her, evil magicians controlling magic , friends turned enemies out to hurt them, and a race against time to unleash the magic trapped. Wonderfully written, unique and refreshing. Loved it

My book review is on goodreads, I love this series, it’s not insta love, it’s slow burning, young adult, light fun read with great plots and characters . Can’t recommend it enough
