I WANTED to love this movie but I barely walked away not regretting watching it. I was unsure from the outset if Kit did or didn't have a mental disability. I have always said that independent films try too hard to feel "real" and what you get a majority of the time is dull and often downright confusing and boring. There are exceptions, this just isn't one of them. :( I am a lover of all things fantasy, and understand the metaphorical undertones and dreams represented. I'm just kind of inclined to think that as an adult, remembering your little girl dreams is a good thing, disolving into full on psychosis is a completely different ball of glittery hay. Plus I am fairly certain no one flunks out of Art School since self expression is the entire reason fer being there. Love Brie Larson and hope to see more of her work on all sides of the camera.
